Granada – Atletico Madrid: Prediction and Betting Tips

Granada:

Granada’s performance is more modest.  The club’s main sniper, Roberto Soldado, has scored only five goals in the season: the 35-year-old veteran simply lacks stability. He is feeling his age these days.

The defense of the “Gran” looks very weak.  Diego Martinez’s team has conceded 36 goals in 22 rounds – the penultimate record in La Liga. Only one team, “Betis”, missed more in La Liga.

It is not surprising that Granada has not won in four consecutive La Liga rounds.  They suffered one defeat and drew three times. In the last round, Granada exchanged balls with Levante, although it looked significantly weaker. They scored only two goals, although they created five chances.

Atletico Madrid:

Atlético has finally lost points. In the last round, Diego Simeone’s team drew with Celta (2:2) and interrupted a streak of eight consecutive wins in La Liga.

This should not be surprising.  Before the meeting with Celta, the red and white had an outbreak of coronavirus.  Five Atlético players tested positive for COVID-19 at once. Therefore, for the match with Celta, Atletico was preparing with Zoom.

While Moussa Dembele, João Felix, and Yannick Carrasco are fighting the infection, Luis Suarez is dragging Atletico. In the last round, the Uruguayan scored a double.  He has 16 goals in 17 La Liga appearances. This is three more than Lionel Messi and Youssef An-Nesiri.

Outcome bet

Bookmakers give preference to guests. Atletico’s victory goes for 1.83, a draw goes for 3.34, and Granada’s success goes for 5.50.

Everything is logical here. Granada is a historic rival for Atletico. Atlético has won eight of their last ten head-to-head matches, including the first round.

The outbreak of the coronavirus did not affect the mattress game in any way.  This was shown by the match against Celta.  Diego Simeone’s team mocked the Celts but did not use at least two 100% chances. If not for a couple of defensive mistakes, Atlético’s streak would have reached nine matches. So we would play Atlético’s win at 1.83.

Total bet

Bookmakers are convinced that the game will be goalless. Total goes less for 1.62, more for 2.44. Note that only one of the last five matches with the participation of Granada and Atlético were goalless.
