Kevin de Bruyne - Biography

Kevin De Bruyne (born 28 June 1991) is a Belgian professional footballer who currently plays for Premier League club Manchester City as well as the Belgium national team. He is generally considered as one of the world's and his generation's top players. De Bruyne started his career in Genk, where he was a starter when the club won the Belgian Pro League in 2010-11. He joined English club Chelsea in 2012, where he was played rarely before being loaned to Werder Bremen. He joined for Wolfsburg for £18m in 2014, where he quickly established himself as one of the top players in the Bundesliga and was instrumental in the club's DFB-Pokal victory in 2014-15. De Bruyne joined Manchester City in the summer of 2015 for a club record fee of £54m. With the club, he has won four Premier League crowns, five League Cups, and one FA Cup. In 2017-18, he played a key part in Manchester City being the first Premier League side to reach 100 points in a single season. De Bruyne was named Premier League Player of the Season in 2019-20 after tying the record for most assists in a single season (which he won again in 2021–22).
