Liverpool already working on signing of long term Premier league target.
According to a recent report from journalist Ben Jacobs, Liverpool are reportedly accelerating their efforts to sign Matheus Nunes in the summer transfer window.
The Telegraph had previously reported that the Reds were keeping tabs on the player, but Jacobs claims that sources have told him that the process of signing Nunes has already begun.
“I think there is something to it and from sources it appears that Liverpool have started that process of trying to get this one done with a view to the summer. The only complication is that he’s new to Wolves and they have a brand new manager as well and that can change the dynamic,” Jacobs said.
“Liverpool have always liked Nunes and the player knowing that will see his Wolves form as a chance to step up. It’s not the first time Liverpool have looked at Nunes. They’ve seen enough now at Wolves to suggest that a transfer is in their interest. It’s now about the money side of things.”
This is not surprising, as Liverpool are known for their ability to identify top talent and quickly move to secure their targets. With the transfer being discussed so far in advance, it gives Liverpool and current club Wolverhampton Wanderers ample time to work out the details of the transfer, and it is likely that it will be completed as soon as the window opens.
This would be a significant acquisition for the Reds, as Guardiola has previously praised Nunes as “one of the best players in the world” and he could be the missing piece in Liverpool’s midfield puzzle.
