Ahead of the Carabao Cup final against Manchester United at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, Newcastle defender Kieran Trippier has acknowledged the challenge his team will face against one of the world’s most in-form players, Marcus Rashford, who has scored 16 goals in his last 17 games.

Newcastle United are bracing themselves for one of the most crucial matches of their season as they prepare to take on Manchester United in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday. Magpies right-back Kieran Trippier has admitted that they will be facing one of the world’s most in-form players, Marcus Rashford, in what promises to be an epic showdown.

The 32-year-old defender, who will be hoping to put in a solid performance against his fellow England teammate, believes that Rashford is currently in the best form of his career. Rashford has been on a scoring run of 16 goals in 17 games and is sure to be a major threat to the Newcastle backline.

Despite the challenges posed by Rashford, Trippier is confident that his team can rise to the occasion and produce a winning performance. He emphasized the need for the Magpies to focus on their own game and not get too caught up in individual battles, saying ”

“I agree, I have always said Marcus is an unbelievable player,” he told talkSPORT

“I play with him for my country, and know what he is all about.

“He is certainly hitting form now, but, you know we can’t just focus on Marcus, they have other unbelievable players.

It is a team sport, but Marcus has hit form, let’s put it that way.”

Newcastle, who have not won a major trophy since the FA Cup in 1955, will be desperate to lift the Carabao Cup and add to their rich history.

On the other hand, Manchester United will be looking to secure their first piece of silverware under manager Erik ten Hag and their first major gong since winning the Europa League title in 2017 under Jose Mourinho.

However, Newcastle’s preparations have been dealt a major blow with the suspension of their first-choice goalkeeper Nick Pope, who was sent off in their recent Premier League defeat. As a result, former Liverpool keeper Loris Karius is expected to start in goal for the Magpies.

Despite the setback, Newcastle will be looking to take the game to Manchester United and give their fans something to cheer about.

It promises to be a thrilling encounter between two top sides and football fans all over the world will be eagerly anticipating the outcome.
